Writing a Search Engine Friendly Article That People Will Want To Read

Learning the art of how to write a search engine friendly article that both attracts Google and is a pleasure to the read can sometimes be a very tricky task. Getting the keyword density ratio correct is not as simple as black and white. We all know there is definitely a wrong way to do it. But no one can tell you for certain what the right way is.
If you get your keyword density wrong you will have your article buried so deep in the search engine placement that no one will ever find it. But get it right and you will be rewarded with a great page rank and content quality score for your article. Do it often enough and you will find yourself sitting in that coveted first position on Google.
Some SEO experts throw out the number of a 3% ratio for your long tail keyword to appear in your article content. Unless you plan on doing a lot of word counting and math that one is hard to figure out sometimes. I am going to show you the trick I use and it seems to work like a charm.
Whenever I am doing anything with Google in mind, I like to use the free keyword tools Google provides us. In this case it is the free Google Adwords Keyword Tool.
Using Google Adwords Keyword Tool to Write Search Engine Friendly Articles
You just type in your long tail keyword in the box, check off the "descriptive words or phrases" and the "use synonyms", do your captcha (we all hate those) and hit the "Get keyword ideas" button.
Now Google will generate a list of keyword phrases that it thinks applies to your long tail keyword phrase. This keyword list is the key to your article success.
What Google is essentially telling you is that if you have information on a particular subject (your keyword phrase) and are providing a good product for Google's customers then your page content will have these words in it as well as your chosen long tail keyword phrase.
You are not going to use every phrase in the list and using them nonsensically throughout your article will do you no good either. I generally choose one or two of these keyword phrases per paragraph, usually from the top five on the list. I then write my article to incorporate these keywords into the content in a logical, reader friendly way.
10 SEO Tips for Writing Search Engine Friendly Articles
- Make sure your longtail keyword is in your title and any head tags on your website (or article).
- Don't forget your meta tags and description. Use your keyword phrase in your description and tags and use the selected keywords from the Google list as tags too.
- Your top keyword phrases should appear in your first paragraph (preferably the first line)
- Your targeted keyword phrase should appear in your last paragraph. (preferably the last line)
- Depending on the length of your article, you may safely include your long tail keyword phrase one or two more times somewhere in the middle of the article.(skip this if it is a short article)
- Each paragraph of your article should have a separate point. Use the keyword phrases to make your point and write the rest of the paragraph to support that one point.
- Do not use keywords in every sentence unless they are appropriate as you are also writing for your readers.
- Use the keywords as anchor text for any links in your article.
- Do not overload your article with keywords. That is called keyword spamming and is a BIG no-no in Google's eyes.
- Use numbered or bullet lists as a way of incorporating the Google generated keywords into your article.
When you use these SEO guidelines your readers will not feel like they are being slapped in the face with your chosen keyword phrase and will look forward to reading your next article. You will write search engine friendly articles that will perform better in Google's search engine positioning and you will get a better content quality score as well.
